Thai Beef Salad with Peanuts & Chilli Dressing Recipe

Thai steak salad featuring griddled steak served on a bed of lettuce and fresh herbs, tossed in a Thai-inspired dressing of chili, ginger, garlic, fish sauce, honey, and lime. Garnish this flavorful Asian steak salad with a sprinkle of chopped peanuts for added crunch.

Ingredients
  

Steak

  • black pepper (to taste)
  • salt (to taste)
  • 2 whole sirloin Steak

Salad

  • 3 sprig fresh basil
  • 6 sprig fresh coriander
  • 3 sprig fresh mint
  • 120 grams lettuce
  • 25 grams salted peanuts

Dressing

  • black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 1 whole fresh chilli
  • 2 cm fresh ginger
  • 1 cloves garlic
  • 0.5 tbsp honey
  • 1 whole lime
  • salt (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp sunflower oil

Instructions
 

  • wash and finely chop the chilli, peel and crush the garlic using the garlic crusher or chop finely, peel and grate the ginger, place the garlic, ginger and chilli in a bowl
  • squeeze the lime(s), add to the bowl, add the oil, fish sauce, and honey to the bowl, mix the ingredients, season with salt and pepper
  • heat the griddle pan, season the steak with salt and pepper, cook the steak for a minute or 2
  • while the steak is cooking
  • wash and chop the lettuce, add to the bowl, wash and remove the stalks from the coriander, wash and remove the stalks from the mint
  • turn the steak over and cook for a minute or 2
  • wash and remove the stalks from the basil, add the herbs to the lettuce, set a side
  • rest the steak for 5 mins
  • chop the peanuts, pour half the dressing over the salad, toss to mix, place the salad in a serving bowl
  • cut the steak into 2cm slices, place on top of the salad, add the chopped peanuts
