Thai Beef Salad with Peanuts & Chilli Dressing Recipe
Thai steak salad featuring griddled steak served on a bed of lettuce and fresh herbs, tossed in a Thai-inspired dressing of chili, ginger, garlic, fish sauce, honey, and lime. Garnish this flavorful Asian steak salad with a sprinkle of chopped peanuts for added crunch.
Ingredients
Steak
- black pepper (to taste)
- salt (to taste)
- 2 whole sirloin Steak
Salad
- 3 sprig fresh basil
- 6 sprig fresh coriander
- 3 sprig fresh mint
- 120 grams lettuce
- 25 grams salted peanuts
Dressing
- black pepper (to taste)
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 1 whole fresh chilli
- 2 cm fresh ginger
- 1 cloves garlic
- 0.5 tbsp honey
- 1 whole lime
- salt (to taste)
- 1 tbsp sunflower oil
Instructions
- wash and finely chop the chilli, peel and crush the garlic using the garlic crusher or chop finely, peel and grate the ginger, place the garlic, ginger and chilli in a bowl
- squeeze the lime(s), add to the bowl, add the oil, fish sauce, and honey to the bowl, mix the ingredients, season with salt and pepper
- heat the griddle pan, season the steak with salt and pepper, cook the steak for a minute or 2
- while the steak is cooking
- wash and chop the lettuce, add to the bowl, wash and remove the stalks from the coriander, wash and remove the stalks from the mint
- turn the steak over and cook for a minute or 2
- wash and remove the stalks from the basil, add the herbs to the lettuce, set a side
- rest the steak for 5 mins
- chop the peanuts, pour half the dressing over the salad, toss to mix, place the salad in a serving bowl
- cut the steak into 2cm slices, place on top of the salad, add the chopped peanuts
