
Kromeskies Recipe
Cooked chicken and mushrooms wrapped in bacon, coated in batter, and deep-fried.
Ingredients
- 2 chopped onions
- 100 gm finely chopped mushrooms
- 25 gm butter
- 100 gm fresh breadcrumbs
- 2 egg yolks
- Salt and pepper
- Grated nutmeg
- 250 gm cooked chicken/ham
- 16 rashers bacon
For the Batter:
- 175 gm flour
- Pinch of salt
- 1 tsp oil
- 275 ml water
- 2 egg whites
- Oil for frying
For Mustard Mayonnaise:
- 1 Tbsp wholegrain mustard
- 125 ml mayonnaise
- 1 tsp honey
- Pinch of chilli powder
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Cook onions and mushrooms in butter until liquid dries.
- Combine with crumbs, yolks, cream, seasoning and nutmeg.
- Stir in chopped meat/chicken.
- Flatten bacon and wrap around Spoonfuls of mixture. Chill.
For the Batter:
- Mix flour and salt with oil and water.
- When smooth, fold in whipped egg whites.
- Dip bacon rolls in mixture. Deep fry in hot oil until golden.
- Serve immediately with mustard mayonnaise.
For the Mayonnaise:
- Mix the ingredients together and serve with Kromeskies.
