Argentinian Pebeta Recipe
Pebeta is an Argentine sandwich made with soft, small rolls filled with ham, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. It’s a popular snack or light meal, especially enjoyed by young children. Though simple to prepare, this sandwich is a staple throughout Argentina.
Ingredients
- 4 Pebetes (soft rolls)
- 8 Cooked ham slices
- 8 Cheese slices (such as provolone or mozzarella)
- 4 Lettuce leaves
- 1 Tomato (sliced)
- 4 tbsp Mayonnaise
- Salt and pepper – to taste
Instructions
- Slice the pebetes rolls in half and spread mayonnaise on each side.
- Layer ham, cheese, lettuce, and tomato on the bottom half of each roll.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Place the top half of the roll over the filling.
- Serve immediately.
