Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb Lamb (cubed)
  • 1 Onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 Carrot (diced) – 1
  • 1 stalk Celery (diced)
  • 2 tbsp Tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup Frik (cracked wheat)
  • 1 cup Chickpeas (cooked)
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup Fresh cilantro (chopped)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil – 2 tbsp
  • 6 cups Water or beef broth – 6 cups

Instructions
 

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add lamb and cook until browned.
  • Add onion, carrot, celery, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are softened.
  • Stir in tomato paste, cumin, coriander, and cinnamon. Cook for another minute.
  • Add water or beef broth, frik, and chickpeas. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve hot, garnished with chopped cilantro.
