- 1 lb Lamb (cubed)
- 1 Onion (finely chopped)
- 1 Carrot (diced) - 1
- 1 stalk Celery (diced)
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 1/2 cup Frik (cracked wheat)
- 1 cup Chickpeas (cooked)
- 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
- 1 tsp Ground cumin
- 1 tsp Ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup Fresh cilantro (chopped)
- Salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 tbsp Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp
- 6 cups Water or beef broth - 6 cups
Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add lamb and cook until browned.
Add onion, carrot, celery, and garlic. Cook until vegetables are softened.
Stir in tomato paste, cumin, coriander, and cinnamon. Cook for another minute.
Add water or beef broth, frik, and chickpeas. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Serve hot, garnished with chopped cilantro.
