Maple Pork with Apples Recipe
Delicious maple pork features tender sticky pork fillet simmered in a blend of garlic, mustard, and maple syrup, accompanied by sliced apples. It's served over a bed of white rice topped with crispy fried onions.
Ingredients
Pork
- 300 grams pork tenderloin (fillet)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 0.25 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 1 tsp wholegrain mustard
- 2 whole eating apples
- 45 ml water
Rice
- 1 packet microwave white rice
- 1 whole onions
Instructions
- heat the frying pan with a little oil, slice the pork into 3 cm slices, place the slices into the frying pan and cook until lightly browned approx 5 minutes in total, remove the pork from the frying pan and set a side
- heat the other frying pan, add a spot of the oil, peel and finely slice the onion(s), add the onions to the frying pan, cook till golden brown, keep warm
- peel and slice the apples, add the apple to the frying pan you cooked the pork in, cook for 3 to 4 mins, till they begin to soften
- peel and crush the garlic, mix together the syrup, vinegar, garlic and water and add to the apples, Bring to the boil
- add the meat to the apple pan, cook until the pork is fully cooked and the sauce is thick and sticky
- follow the rice packet instructions to heat the rice, add to the onion pan, place on a serving plate
- add the mustard to the apple pan, cook for a further minute or two, place on top of the rice
