  • ½ cup water or as required

Other Ingredients

  • 1 cup finely chopped tomatoes
  • ½ cup finely chopped onion
  • ½ cup masala peanut
  • ½ cup tomato ketchup
  • 1 cup shredded cheese or more
  • 8 hot dog buns
  • 3 tablespoon butter

Instructions

Filling

  • Heat oil in a pan. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a few seconds.
  • Now add spices (salt, chili powder, garam masala, and turmeric powder) and saute for 10 seconds. Add ½ cup of water and give it a quick stir.
  • Then add mashed potatoes and mix everything well. Cook on a medium flame for about 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Switch off the flame and let the mixture cool down.

Chutney

  • Meanwhile, let’s make chutney.
  • Take all the chutney ingredients in a mixture grinder and grind it into slightly coarse chutney. Keep this chutney aside.
  • You will need only half (or less) of this chutney for this recipe. You can store the rest of the chutney in the fridge for later use.
  •  This chutney stays good for up to a week in the fridge and up to 3 months in the freezer.

Assemble

  • Divide the potato filling into 8 equal parts.
  • Take a hot dog bun and make a slit in the middle of the bun.
  • Now heat a tawa/griddle on medium heat. Add 1.5 teaspoon butter.
  • Once butter is melted, toast the hot dog bun well from all the sides.
  • Take the toasted bun onto a working surface. On one side of the bun, apply chutney, tomato ketchup, one part of potato stuffing, some finely chopped onion, finely chopped tomatoes, some masala peanuts, and cheese. Cover it with another half-bun.
  • Veg Hot Dog is ready. Enjoy!
