Ingredients
  

  • 8 oz. smoked trout, bones and skin removed
  • 4 oz. cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mixed chopped scallions, dill, and/or chives, plus more for serving
  • 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp. prepared horseradish
  • 1/2 tsp. (or more) fish sauce (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp. (or more) kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp. (or more) freshly ground black pepper
  • Toasted bread, crackers, and/or crudités, for serving

Instructions
 

  • Using 2 forks, flake trout into small, bite-sized pieces. In a large bowl, mix trout, cream cheese, and sour cream with a spatula until well combined. Fold in scallions and herbs, lemon juice, horseradish, fish sauce (if using), salt, and pepper. Cover and refrigerate at least 3 hours or up to overnight.
  • When ready to serve, taste dip and adjust seasonings. Transfer to a serving dish and top with scallions and herbs. Serve with bread alongside.
