
Instant Moong Dal Halwa
A quick and delicious version of the traditional North Indian dessert made using moong dal (yellow lentils), ghee, sugar, and cardamom. This halwa is rich, aromatic, and has a soft, melt-in-the-mouth texture—perfect for festive occasions or when you’re craving something sweet in a hurry.
Ingredients
Instant Moong Dal Halwa
- Moong dal, skinless (मूंग दाल धुली) – ½ cup
- Water (पानी) – 1 cup
- Milk (दूध) – ½ cup
- Sugar (चीनी) – ½ cup
- Cardamom powder (इलायची पाउडर) – ½ tsp
- Ghee (घी) – 2 tbsp
- Nuts, chopped (ड्राई फ्रुट) – handful
Instructions
- For instant moong dal halwa, roast the moong dal in a pan, on medium flame and let it cool down. Then grind it coarsely. For sugar syrup, in a pan, add water, milk and sugar. Let the sugar melt.
- Heat a pan and melt some ghee. Roast the ground moong dal for a minute and pour the sugar syrup and mix them up. Drop in chopped nuts and the moong dal halwa is ready to be served!
