Ingredients

  • Fresh sugarcane juice – 1 cup
  • Lime – 1
  • Honey or simple syrup – 1 tbsp
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Instructions

  • Start by preparing the sugarcane juice. If you have access to fresh sugarcane, peel and chop it into small pieces. Place the sugarcane pieces in a blender or juicer and blend until you get a smooth juice. If you don't have fresh sugarcane, you can use store-bought sugarcane juice.
  • Squeeze the lime to extract its juice. You can adjust the amount of lime juice according to your taste preferences.
  • In a pitcher or large mixing bowl, combine the sugarcane juice, lime juice, and honey (or simple syrup). Stir well to ensure the honey (or simple syrup) is fully dissolved.
  • Fill four glasses with ice cubes.
  • Pour the guarapo mixture over the ice cubes in each glass, dividing it evenly.
  • If desired, garnish each glass with fresh mint leaves for a refreshing touch.
  • Stir the guarapo gently to incorporate the flavors and chill it further.
  • Serve the American Guarapo immediately and enjoy!
