Grilled Avocado
It's widely known that avocados are simply the best. However, have you ever tried grilling them? Yes, you heard that right! Grilling avocados takes their deliciousness to a whole new level. Not only does grilling impart a smoky and charred flavor, but it also renders the avocados incredibly tender and wonderfully creamy. Enjoy them simply dressed with lime juice and salt, or try our slightly spicy garlic-oregano dressing as showcased here. Grilled avocados are versatile and can be incorporated into various recipes that call for avocados. (Just a word of caution: it's best to stick to savory preparations and avoid using grilled avocados in sweet recipes like avocado ice cream.) Give grilled avocado a try in guacamole, avocado-tomato salad, or stuffed tacos.Did you know that avocados come in a wide range of varieties? While hundreds of avocado varieties exist worldwide, the most common one is the Hass avocado. You can use Hass avocados for this recipe (recognizable by their pebbly skin that darkens when ripe), or you can experiment with other avocado varieties such as Bacon, Reed, or Fuerte when grilling. If you're fortunate enough to live in an area where avocados are locally grown, be sure to check your farmers' market for unique avocado varieties that you may not have encountered before.
