Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 6 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • ¾ cup olive oil
  • 1 (16 ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dried parsley
  • 1 cup water
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 bay leaf

Instructions
 

  • Place green beans in a pot, and mix in lemon juice, onion, olive oil, tomatoes, tomato sauce, parsley, water, salt, pepper, and bay leaf. Cook 45 minutes over medium heat, occasionally stirring, until sauce is thickened. Remove bay leaf before serving.
