
Fruit Custard without Milk | Vegan Recipe | Oats Milk Custard
This Vegan Fruit Custard is a dairy-free twist on the classic dessert, made with creamy oats milk and flavored with vanilla or custard powder. It’s naturally sweetened and packed with seasonal fruits like bananas, apples, and berries. Light, refreshing, and nutritious, this plant-based custard is perfect for those avoiding dairy, offering a guilt-free treat for summers, festive occasions, or healthy indulgence.
Ingredients
For oats milk (yeild 500ml approx)
- Oats (ओट्स) – ½ cup or 55gm
- Water (पानी), Chilled – 700 mL or 3 cup
- Cashew (काजू), Soaked – 6 pc or 10 gm
- Almonds (बादाम), Soaked – 6 pc
For Custard
- Oats Milk (ओट्स दूध) – 500ml
- Custard Powder (कस्टर्ड पाउडर) – 1 tbsp
- Sugar (चीनी) – 3 tbsp/50gm
- Yellow colour (पीला रंग) – few drops
- Vanilla extract (वेनीला सत्र) – few drops
For Garnish
- Corn flakes (कॉर्न फ्लेक्स) – as required
- Banana (केला) – as required
- Green grapes ( हरे अंगूर) – as required
- Mango (आम) – as required
- Almonds (बादाम), Sliced – as required
- Tutti Fruity (टूटी फ्रूटी) – as required
Instructions
- Put oats, soaked cashews and almonds in a grinder along with the cold water and grind for about a minute, do not over grind.Sieve the milk using a muslin cloth or a very fine sieve. Gently squeeze it to bring out the yield.
- Add custard powder and sugar to the milk and whisk it nicely. Now you may add vanilla extract and yellow food colour to enhance the taste and colour, these are optional.Pour the mix into a pan and then place the pan over a flame on low heat.
- Keep stirring and cook on a low flame till the custard sets and becomes thick. This will take about 4-5 minutes. Pour the custard into a serving bowl and cool. To serve, decorate with fruits. The custard is now ready to be served.
