Easy Mojitos
Here's a straightforward mojito recipe for your home enjoyment. In the small town where I'm currently located, mojitos are a rarity at local restaurants, and my attempts to make them with club soda didn't quite hit the mark. Substituting lemon-lime soda not only simplifies the process but also reduces the typical sugar content.
Ingredients
- 12 leaves mint
- 2 lime slices
- 1 teaspoon white sugar, or more to taste
- ¼ cup ice cubes, or as needed
- 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger rum (such as Bacardi®)
- 4 ½ ounces diet lemon-lime soda (such as Diet Sprite®)
Instructions
- Place mint leaves, lime slices, and sugar in the bottom of a glass and muddle with a spoon until mint is crushed. Fill the glass with ice cubes. Pour rum then soda over the ice; stir.
