Preparing Dry Whole Mung Sabzi, also known as Chhutta Mug Nu Shak, is both effortless and a wholesome recipe. It adheres to the Jain dietary restrictions with a no-onion, no-garlic approach.

Ingredients
  

  • Green whole Mung beans – 1 cup
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red Chili powder – 1 tsp
  • Cumin and coriander powder – 1 tsp
  • Lemon Juice – 1 tbsp We love lemon juice in this Preparation.
  • Cilantro / Coriander leaves for garnishing
  • Water – 1 cup or as needed.

Instructions
 

  • Soak Whole Mung for at least 5 to 6 hours in hot water.
  • Drain the water. Heat oil in a pan. Add mung beans. Stir well. Add turmeric powder and salt. Mix well.
  • Add one cup of water. Cover the pan with the lid and cook it for 10 to 12 minutes, Stir occasionally in between, or until cooked (Should not be mushover the medium to low heat. Add water if needed.
  • Add red chili powder, cumin and coriander powder and lemon juice. Mix well and cook it for another 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Dry Mung Sabzi / Chhutta Mug nu Shak is ready. Serve it with puri, roti, Paratha or have it as it is.
