Dal Ki Dulhan, also known as Bihari Dal Pithi or Dal Dhokli, is a traditional North Indian comfort food made with spiced wheat flour dumplings simmered in a flavorful lentil (dal) curry. Ingredients
  

For Dulhan | Pasta (Makes 22pc of 6 cm Dia)

  • 1 cup Atta (Whole Wheat Flour)
  • 1 tbsp Ghee (Clarified Butter) 
  • ½ cup Pani (Water)

For Dal

  • ½ cup Arhar dal (Pigeon Pea), Soaked  
  • cup Pani (Water)   
  • 1 tbsp Haldi (Turmeric powder)
  • to taste Namak (Salt)

For Tadka

  • 2 tbsp Ghee (Clarified Butter)
  • 1 tbsp Jeera (Cumin)
  • 1 pinch Hing (Asafoetida)  
  • 1 pc Sookhi Lal Mirch (Dried red chilli)
  • 1 tbsp Sarso Dana (Mustard seed) 
  • 4 to 5 cloves Lehsun (Garlic), Chopped
  • 1 inch Adrak (Ginger), Chopped
  • 1 pc Hari Mirch (Green chilli) 
  • 1 pc Pyaz (Onion), Chopped 
  • 1 tbsp Haldi (Turmeric powder)
  • 1 tbsp Lal Mirch (Red chilli), Powder
  • 1 pc Tamatar (Tomato), Chopped

Instructions
 

  • 1.Take Toor Dal, wash it, drain the water and soak it for at least 30 mins.
  • 2.Put it in a pressure cooker along with water, salt and turmeric. Turn the gas on and give it 1 whistle on high flame and cook for another 5-6 minutes on low flame, or untill well cooked.
  • 3.Meanwhile, take the wheat flour, salt and water to make a soft dough. Add some ghee at the end and knead in. Allow it to rest over counter rest for at least 10 minutes.
  • 4. Spread the dough and cut the dough into round shapes, using a glass or a cutter. Add water to the edges and pinch the circle from two opposite ends and again from the other ends and pinch where they all meet to make the Dhulan. Keep aside to cook.
  • 5. Add the dal to the tadka and give it a nice stir. Add some water to the dal to make it thin and add the Dulhan into the dal. Cook, covered, till the dal begins to boil, cook till the Dulhan is cooked for about 10 minutes. Finish with fresh coriander.
