Cherry Bourbon Glazed Ham
A baked ham is a timeless dinner centerpiece, perfect for any holiday. If you're preparing it for the first time this Easter, this guide should be your go-to. Our recipe ensures a moist, flavorful ham, glazed with a classic brown sugar mixture that enhances the taste and creates those irresistible caramelized edges.
Ingredients
- 1 (10-lb.) boneless or bone-in cooked whole ham
- 1 1/2 cups apple cider
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325º. Place ham on a rack set in a roasting pan. Using a sharp knife, score outside of ham in a crosshatch pattern, spacing about 1/2" apart. Cover with foil and bake until warmed through, 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
- During the last 45 minutes of cooking, in a small saucepan over medium heat, whisk apple cider, brown sugar, mustard, and vinegar. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and bring to a simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, until reduced by about half, 10 to 15 minutes.
- Uncover ham. Continue to bake, brushing glaze on ham every 15 minutes, until an instant-read thermometer inserted into thickest part of ham registers 140°, about 45 minutes more.
- Brush with glaze after removing from oven. Let rest 15 minutes before slicing.
