Brazilian Coração de Galinha (Chicken Hearts) Recipe

Ingredients
- Chicken hearts – 1 lb.
- Olive oil – 2 tbsp
- Onion, chopped – 1
- Garlic cloves, minced – 2
- Paprika – 1 tsp
- Cumin – 1 tsp
- Dried oregano – 1/2 tsp
- Salt and pepper – to taste
- Water – 1 cup
- Lime (juiced) – 1
Instructions
- Rinse the chicken hearts and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Now, take a large skillet and add olive oil to it. Heat it over a medium flame.
- Once the oil is hot, throw in the garlic and onion and allow them to cook until they become soft. This should take about 5 minutes.
- It’s time to add the chicken hearts and cook them until they turn brown. This may take approximately 10 minutes.
- Stir in the paprika, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, water, and lime juice and let the dish cook.
- Make sure you place the lid on the skillet before simmering the chicken hearts. It should take about 20 minutes for them to cook through.
- Serve the Coração de Galinha hot, garnished with fresh cilantro if desired.
