Beef Stroganoff Recipe
Enjoy this creamy beef stroganoff with tender strips of beef steak and sliced mushrooms, cooked in a classic stroganoff sauce seasoned with paprika. It’s served over a bed of white rice and garnished with freshly chopped parsley.
Ingredients
Beef Stroganoff
- black pepper (to taste)
- 2 tbsp brandy
- 15 grams butter
- 5 sprig fresh parsley
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 125 grams chestnut mushroom
- 1 whole onions
- 1.5 tsp paprika
- salt (to taste)
- 2 whole sirloin Steak
- 60 ml sour cream
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Rice
- 1 packet microwave white rice
Instructions
- peel and crush the garlic, cut the steaks into thin strips, peel and chop the onion(s) finely
- heat the frying pan with the butter and a spot of oil, add the onions, cook till soft, add the garlic to the onions
- wash and slice the mushrooms, add the mushrooms to garlic and onions, shallow fry till golden brown, empty the contents of the frying pan on to a plate, set a side
- reheat the frying pan with a spot of oil, make sure its nice and hot, fry the steak in batches till sealed and golden brown, about 30 secs, return all the steak to the pan, add the brandy and boil off the alcohol, add the paprika, cook for a minute or two
- add the mushrooms to the steak, squeeze the lemon(s) . add the sour cream and lemon juice to the steak and mushroom mixture, heat gently
- wash and finely chop the fresh parsley, add the parsley saving a little for sprinkling over the stroganoff, cook for a minute or two, season with salt and pepper
- warm the precooked rice by following the instructions, place the rice in individual serving dishes
- place the stroganoff on top of the rice, Sprinkle with parsley, serve immediately
