Banana Sabzi
The Sweet Pepper and Ripe Banana Sabzi, also known as Paka Kela Nu Shaak, is a delightful Gujarati Jain dish. While traditionally made solely with ripe bananas, I've incorporated the unique twist of sweet peppers in this version.

- Sliced ripe bananas – 4 big size / 400 grams
- Salt to taste
- Pinch of hing
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Oil – 3 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tsp
- Chili powder – 1 tbsp
- Coriander and cumin seeds powder – 1 tbsp
- Cilantro / coriander for garnishing
Instructions
- Heat oil in a pan. Add Hing and cumin seeds. Let cumin seeds splutter.
- Add Peppers/capsicum. Now season it with salt and turmeric powder. Give it a good mix. Let it cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until tender.
- Now add sliced ripe bananas, chili powder, and cumin-coriander powder. Give it a quick mix. Let it cook for 2 minutes (Not more than thaon medium heat. Switch off the flame.
