Ingredients
- 2 potato
- 1 tsp chopped ginger
- 1 tsp chopped green chili
- A big pinch of asafoetida
- 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
- Salt as per your taste
- 1 cup curd or yoghurt
Ingredients for tempering:
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
- 1 red chili (I used majjige or sandige menasu)
Instructions
- Wash and cut the potatoes into 4 pieces. Cook the potatoes in a pressure cooker by adding sufficient water. You can even cook the peeled potato along with rice.
- Once they are cooked, peel and mash them into bits and pieces.
- Now add in chopped ginger, chopped green chili and chopped coriander leaves. Adjust the green chili as per your spice level.
- Also add in salt and asafoetida.
- Add in whisked curd (or buttermilk) and give a quick mix. You can reduce the amount of curd and add some water.
- Temper it with oil, mustard seeds and red chili. You can use buttermilk chili for better taste. Serve it with hot steaming rice.
