Kaju Katli is an Indian dessert made primarily from cashew nuts, giving it a rich, nutty taste. Some recipes add ghee and cardamom powder for extra flavor. This sweet is a type of barfi, a category of dense, milk-based Indian confections.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Cashew nuts
- 1/2 cup Sugar
- 1/4 cup Water
- 1 tsp Ghee
- 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder
Instructions
- Grind the cashew nuts into a fine powder.
- In a pan, combine sugar and water, and heat until the sugar dissolves completely, forming a syrup.
- Continue to cook the syrup until it reaches a single-thread consistency.
- Add the cashew powder to the syrup, stirring continuously to avoid lumps forming.
- Cook the mixture on low heat until it thickens into a dough-like consistency.
- Add ghee and cardamom powder, mixing well until fully combined.
