Horseradish Yogurt Sauce
Horseradish Yogurt Sauce offers a lighter twist on the classic condiment we all enjoy. Made with Greek yogurt, it's still rich and tangy but with fewer calories. It's an ideal pairing for meats (especially Prime Rib), fish, and vegetable dishes.
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons prepared horseradish
- ½ cup Greek yogurt, full fat
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon chives, or scallions, chopped (Optional)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the prepared horseradish, Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, salt and pepper until fully combined.
- Gently stir in the chopped chives or scallions if desired. Taste for seasoning and add more if necessary.
- Refrigerate until ready to serve then remove from the fridge 30 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Yields: This recipe makes 3/4 cup horseradish yogurt sauce, which is ideal for 6-7 servings. The calorie information below is per serving.
- Storage: Transfer it to an airtight container. Store in the fridge for up to a week. Give it a good stir just before serving.
- Freeze: Store it in a freezer-safe container for up to 3 months. Alternatively, for meal prep and portion control, flash-freeze the sauce in an ice cube tray for 1-2 hours. Then, pop them out and transfer them to a freezer-safe plastic bag. Each cube is good for one serving.
