Konchu / Prawns / Chemmeen Pollichathu

Ingredients
- 250 gms Cleaned prawns (measured after cleaning)
- 1/2 cup Whole Small / Pearl onion
- 2 tsp Chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp Pepper powder
- 5-6 pieces Garlic
- 1 medium piece Ginger
- A pinch Mustard & Fenugreek seeds
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 1 medium Onion (chopped)
- 1 big Tomato (chopped)
- 1/2 cup Coconut bits (thengakothu)
- Coconut oil
- Curry leaves
- Salt
Instructions
- Grind together small onion, ginger, garlic, chilli, pepper and turmeric powder, mustard and fenugreek seeds with 1-2 tbsp water to a fine paste. Heat oil in a pan & saute the onion. Add the ground masala. Once oil starts appearing add chopped tomatoes, curry leaves and salt. After 5 minutes add prawns & coconut bits, mix well. Add water & cook. Cook till the prawns are done and covered in masala. Remove from fire. Serve hot with rice or roti. Garnish with curry leaves.
