Ingredients
  

  • 2 – 4 nellikai or amla or gooseberry (depending on size and your taste)
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1 – 2 green chili
  • 2 tsp urad dal
  • 1 tsp cooking oil
  • Salt as per your taste

Ingredients for type2: (measuring cup used = 240ml)

  • 2 – 4 nellikai or amla or gooseberry (depending on size and your taste)
  • 1 cup grated coconut
  • 1 – 2 green chili
  • Salt as per your taste

Ingredients for tempering:

  • 1 tsp cooking oil
  • 1 red chili
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds

Instructions
 

  • Wash and chop the gooseberries. Then transfer chopped gooseberry, salt and coconut into mixie jar. Use required water and grind until smooth.
  • In a small skillet fry mustard seeds, urad dal and slit green chilies using a tsp of oil (heat oil, add one by one and fry). Add this to the ground chutney and coarse grind it.
  • Temper it with oil, red chilli and mustard seeds.

Instructions for making nellikai chutney – Type2:

  • Wash and chop the gooseberries. Then transfer chopped gooseberry, green chili and coconut into mixie jar.
  • Use required water and grind until smooth. Pour it into a bowl. Add in salt and mix well.
  • Temper it with oil, red chilli and mustard seeds.
