Zemiakové placky are traditional Slovakian potato pancakes. Finely grated raw potatoes are combined with eggs, spices, salt, garlic, and flour to create a thick batter. The batter is then spooned onto hot oil or lard and fried on both sides until golden brown.

- Egg - 1
- All-purpose flour - 1 tbsp
- Sour cream - 1 tbsp
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Marjoram - 2 tsp
- Salt and black pepper - to taste
- Oil - for frying
Grate the peeled potatoes coarsely.
Mix them with the egg, flour and sour cream.
Add crushed garlic cloves, marjoram, salt and pepper.
Mix to form a semi-thick dough.
Fry pancakes in hot oil until golden brown.
Once removed from the pan, transfer them to paper towels to drain off the excess oil.
