- 4 Hot dogs
- 4 Mozzarella cheese sticks
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup Cornmeal
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 cup Milk
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 2 cups Vegetable oil (for frying)
- 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
- Ketchup (for serving) - to taste
- Mustard (for serving) - to taste
Insert a skewer into each hot dog and mozzarella cheese stick.
In a bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, and baking powder. Whisk in milk and eggs until smooth.
Dip each hot dog and cheese stick into the batter, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).
Fry the corndogs until golden brown and crispy.
Remove from oil and drain on paper towels. Roll in sugar while still hot.
Drizzle with ketchup and mustard before serving.
