Chinese Deep-Fried Scorpion Recipe

The origins of deep-fried scorpion are uncertain, though it likely began in rural areas of China, where surplus scorpions—valued for their medicinal uses—were put to culinary use. Over time, the dish gained popularity as a street food and snack, especially in northern and western China.
Considered a test of bravery and adventurousness, deep-fried scorpion can be intimidating to many due to its unusual appearance. In certain Chinese regions, consuming scorpions and other insects is a cultural practice, often tied to traditional medicine and folklore. Scorpions are believed by some to possess medicinal benefits, and they are incorporated into remedies for various health conditions.
However, eating scorpions and other insects is uncommon in many parts of the world, where it may be seen as unappetizing or risky. The practice is unregulated in some places, raising potential health and safety concerns. Deep-fried scorpion itself consists of a whole scorpion fried until crispy, typically served as a street snack in China.
