Peel the raw bananas and rinse them.
Chop them into pieces. I have used 4 medium sized raw bananas.
In a deep frying pan, prepare tempering using 2 tbsp oil, mustard seeds, gram dal, urad dal and red chilles.
Add in curry leaves once the mustard seeds start to splutter.
Add in chopped raw banana. Add in turmeric powder and asafoetida. Give a quick mix.
Add in salt and tamarind paste. Add 1/2 cup of water. Give a quick mix.
Close the lid and cook until soft under low flame.
Meantime take coconut, coriander seeds, cumin seeds and mustard seeds in a mixie jar.
Add in coriander leaves and gree chilli. Grind until semifine paste by adding required water.
Wait until the raw banana is cooked. Add in ground masala.
Give a good mix and continue cooking for 2 minutes. Serve it with hot rice or chapathi and enjoy!!
